Flower Care Instructions.
Step 1
Start with a clean vase to prevent bacteria from shortening the lifespan of your flowers. Fill it with fresh, room-temperature water, and add a quarter of the flower food packet that came with your bouquet. Stir to dissolve the food evenly, as it helps nourish the flowers and keep the water clear. (Ps. For extra life span you can add a drop of bleach to the water, to really kill all the bacteria.
Step 2
Carefully remove the outer wrapping and any tape holding the stems together. Be gentle to avoid damaging the delicate petals and leaves.
Step 3
Using sharp scissors or garden shears, trim about an inch off the bottom of each stem at a 45-degree angle. Cutting at an angle increases the surface area for water absorption, helping your flowers stay hydrated longer.
Step 4
Place the freshly cut flowers into the prepared vase, ensuring all stems are submerged in the water.
Step 5
To keep your flowers fresh:
Change the water and clean the vase every 3-4 days to prevent bacteria buildup.
Each time you change the water, trim the stems again by about half an inch to keep them drinking efficiently.
Keep your flowers away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and ripening fruit, as these can cause them to wilt faster.
